Grande Dunes Chosen to Crown the 2026 World Amateur Champion

Grande Dunes Resort Club has been selected to host the World Championship Playoff for the 43rd annual Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship, placing one of our flagship properties at the center of golf’s largest single-site amateur tournament.
The 2026 World Am has officially sold out and will welcome 3,000 golfers from 49 states and 17 countries when play begins August 31. After four rounds of flight competition, every flight winner and ties will advance to Grande Dunes for an 18-hole championship playoff to determine the event’s overall World Champion.
The World Am remains one of Myrtle Beach’s signature golf events and continues to showcase the destination to thousands of visiting golfers each year. Being selected to host the championship playoff reflects Grande Dunes’ reputation as one of the premier venues on the Grand Strand and provides another opportunity to showcase the Founders Group portfolio on golf’s biggest amateur stage.
The championship playoff also adds to Grande Dunes’ history of hosting marquee events, including the annual MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com Intercollegiate, further reinforcing the club’s role as one of the area’s premier championship venues.
