Grande Dunes to Host Elite College Golf Field for MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com Intercollegiate

One of South Carolina’s premier golf venues, the Grande Dunes Resort Course, will welcome 16 NCAA Division I teams when the MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com Intercollegiate returns for its second year, September 7–9.

The 54-hole event brings together an impressive field from across the country, with programs from the ACC, Big Ten, Sun Belt, and more competing alongside host Coastal Carolina University. Joining the Chanticleers are Clemson, Maryland, Appalachian State, Florida Gulf Coast, Elon, Campbell, East Carolina, Jacksonville, Texas State, High Point, Old Dominion, Kennesaw State, VCU, Florida Atlantic, and Charleston Southern.

Grande Dunes — a Roger Rulewich design that stretches over 7,600 yards — offers players a championship-level test. With wide fairways, dramatic green complexes, and five holes along the Intracoastal Waterway, including the iconic par-3 14th, the course pairs challenge with spectacular scenery.

Coastal Carolina head coach Jacob Wilner expressed enthusiasm for the event: “We’re thrilled to kick off the season at home and look forward to hosting an outstanding field of teams.”

Last year’s inaugural Intercollegiate saw Santa Clara claim the title with a three-shot victory over Campbell. This year, Coastal, Florida Gulf Coast, and Elon arrive after qualifying for NCAA Regionals this spring, while Clemson enters with one of the nation’s strongest freshman classes — led by Jackson Byrd, son of PGA Tour veteran Jonathan Byrd.

College golf fans can expect exciting play and a glimpse at some of the sport’s rising stars at this picturesque Myrtle Beach venue.
